If the Kansas City Chiefs win the Super Bowl, Taylor Swift fans might just take credit. And Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce isn’t ruling it out.

    Is Tayvoodoo at work?

Swifties coined the term to describe how Swift seems to have an outsize effect on the universe – from lightning strikes to football wins. And fans wonder if the popstar may have deployed some of her magic when she mimed throwing a football during her Eras Tour in October at the Caesars Superdome — the site of Sunday’s big game in New Orleans.

“We love to manifest things, for sure, and you can’t say it’s not real, because we’re here, right?” Kelce said during a press availability at the stadium on Monday. “Whatever she was doing, I’m sure it helped.”

And the internet, of course, is having fun with it!

On an episode of his podcast “New Heights” this season, Jason Kelce pointed out the Kansas City Chiefs had been on an auspicious winning streak, almost like a supernatural or magical power had been impacting the games.

“I feel like you guys are the ‘Angels in the Outfield,'” the former Philadelphia Eagles center told his brother, Travis Kelce. “There’s some unknown.”

Travis jumped in and said, “Here you go with this f***ing Tayvoodoo s*** again.” The brothers laughed.

The “Tayvoodoo” term became well-known during the Eras Tour when synchronous phenomena occurred during certain lyrics like lightning striking to the beat of “Bad Blood” in Nashville or a plane descending next to the Buenos Aires venue when Swift sang the “Labyrinth” line, “I thought the plane was going down, how’d you turn it right around?”

During the 2023 Chiefs season, fans believed the singer’s attendance at 13 games — her favorite number — had something to do with the red-and-gold winning the Super Bowl. After all, it was Super Bowl 58 (5+8=13) against the 49ers (4+9=13) on Feb. 11 (2+11=13).

Fans suspect Swift alluded to Kelce and the Chiefs repeatedly during the course of the Eras Tour. They drew conclusions about the meanings behind her surprise mashups and noticed how she would call out the “guy on the Chiefs” by changing the lyrics to her song “Karma” on nights the team won. Kelce only made it to one U.S. Eras Tour show this year because of his football schedule.
