Awards season is in full swing.

With the Golden Globes already passed and the Oscars casting a golden statue-shaped shadow over Hollywood, the music industry is making sure to keep Grammys top of mind.

CBS, which airs the Grammy Awards, announced the first round of performers for the show in a release Friday. Benson Boone, Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Charli XCX, Doechii, Raye, Sabrina Carpenter, Shakira and Teddy Swims − all nominees themselves − will perform this year.

Sabrina Carpenter performs on stage during the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on Sept. 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York.

While Eilish is a nine-time Grammy winner and up for seven of the awards this year, the list also features newcomers like Boone and Swims, both first-time nominees in the best new artist category. Roan and Carpenter are also best new artist contenders, though die-hard fans will tell you they have been on the scene for a long time before fully hitting the mainstream success they saw in 2024.

The performances will run the musical gamut and reflect a varied year in music, in which female narrators reined supreme, country ruled the charts and genre-bending was the name of the game.

    When are the Grammys?

The Grammy Awards, which will be broadcast live from the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles on Feb. 2, arrive against the backdrop of a city in crisis. As wildfires continue to ravage Southern California, the disaster will no doubt take center stage at the event.

“The upcoming GRAMMY Awards won’t just be about celebrating and honoring the best in music this year. They will also show how the power of music can help rebuild, uplift and support those in need,” Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said in the release. “We are thrilled that so many artists in our community are banding together at this time to show support for their fellow music makers and others impacted by the recent wildfires.”

“In order to generate maximum support not only for members of the music community but also for all those affected by the crisis in Los Angeles and the city at large, many events that traditionally make up GRAMMY Week have been canceled or reformatted,” the release continued.

    Who is the Grammys host?

The evening will be anchored by Trevor Noah, who is rounding out his fifth consecutive year hosting.
